We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team. 13-week travel contract in the Newark area. In this role, you will primarily be creating and managing a plan of care for individual patients. You are a Registered Nurse (RN) who operates with great attention to detail and a big heart. You take pride in creating personalized care plans for patients and are able to observe and communicate effectively in your patient's best interest.

To succeed, you should have demonstrated knowledge and skill in current nursing practices as well as a strong penchant for solving problems.

• 13 weeks
• Every other weekend (Sat/Sun)
• Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)
• Primary Unit: PICU
• Will float to Pediatrics, and NICU if needed for an appropriate assignment (Confirm floating with traveler)
• May have additional float units based on skill set and hospital needs
• Patient Ratio: 1:2+ (Confirm with traveler)
• 19 beds on the unit
• Scrub color Navy Blue

• Currently licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in state of employment
• Previous experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and client care skills
• Valid driver’s license
  
  First aid/CPR certification required
• Must have 2+ years of PICU critical care experience with 1 year of cardiac experience (Both must be documented on skills checklist)
• Competent to care for CT patients with ASD, VSD, AV Canal Defect, Valve replacements, Glenn and Fontan procedures, TOF, s/p cardiac cath and ablations, cardiac transplant, post cardiac surgery cases
• Medtronic pacemakers, Tele monitoring required
• Experience in BIPAP/CPAP, vents, high flow nasal cannula, trachs required
• BLS & PALS required; NRP preferred
• Charting System: EPIC
• First time travelers are not accepted

• Coordinate with other colleagues to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans
• Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects or reactions
• Document any changes in patient conditions and report on changes
• Maintain accurate records of patient care and discuss observations with the supervisor
