Certified Nursing Assistant – Full Time, 11 pm–7 am, including weekends.
Start date:
7/27/2026. Works under the charge of the Charge Nurse.
- Follow established performance standards and policies.
- Assist new employees in following policies.
- Identify and report special resident problems immediately.
- Provide direct resident care and conduct rounds as assigned.
- Initiate corrective action or seek assistance from the Charge Nurse or Director of Nursing.
- Attend staff meetings and attend at least 12 hours of in‑service training per year.
- Control equipment and supplies within the Nursing Unit.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
- Document incidents and unusual problems per procedures.
- Participate in resident care conferences and plan development.
- Review and perform nursing care as outlined in care plans.
- Receive and report nursing shifts.
- Document care and assess resident responses; track weights, meals, toileting.
- Monitor changes in resident condition and report to Charge Nurse or Director.
- Perform basic nursing skills.
- Follow admission, discharge and transfer procedures.
- Inventory and mark resident belongings.
- Listen to resident and family complaints and report appropriately.
- Respond to resident calls promptly.
- Prepare residents for meals and post‑meal care.
- Serve meal trays and ensure proper diet; assist feeding as needed.
- Remove trays, pull up and put down side rails.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living, toileting, and maintaining dryness.
- Empty and record urinary drainage units; transport residents.
- Assist with bathing (tub, shower, bed baths) and mobility.
- Help lift, turn, move, position and transport residents safely.
- Use mechanical lift safely.
- Offer nourishment to all residents.
- Reposition bed and chair residents every two hours and provide skin care.
- Accurately weigh residents.
- Restrain residents as instructed and per OBRA guidelines.
- Place bedpans, linen, washbasins and soiled linen in proper areas.
- Work cooperatively with staff and ancillary service providers.
- Adhere to a reliable schedule and demonstrate dependability.
- Accept assigned duties and accommodate change cooperatively.
- Observe all policies, including infection control and fire prevention.
- Follow Resident Rights policies, maintain confidentiality, knock before entering rooms, provide care in privacy, and treat all residents with kindness, dignity and respect.
- Maintain accountability for handbook information.
- Report unsafe or hazardous conditions.
- Perform other related duties as directed.
- Certified Nursing Assistant for long‑term care by the New Jersey Board of Nursing.
- Previous experience in a geriatric long‑term care facility preferred.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- High school diploma preferred.
- Compliance with health laws and regulations, including COVID‑19 and influenza vaccinations.
- Physical ability to lift and move residents, equipment and supplies exceeding 50 pounds.
- Ability to cope with mental and emotional stress, maintain a flexible and respectful attitude, and work independently.
- Good general health and emotional stability.
Must be able to move intermittently during the work day; possess sight, hearing and/or use of prosthetics enabling these senses to function adequately; be able to assist in evacuation of residents.
