CLIENT is seeking an experienced BSP Development Engineer to support the development of embedded software platforms for next-generation aerospace and real-time computing systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in embedded graphics, BSP development, GPU driver integration, and multi-core processor architectures. Experience with safety-critical systems, RTOS environments, and performance optimization is highly desirable.
This position requires hands-on development of low-level platform software while working closely with hardware and software engineering teams to deliver high-performance, reliable embedded solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
BSP & Embedded Platform Development
- Develop, customize, and maintain Board Support Packages (BSPs) for embedded platforms.
- Support low-level platform initialization and hardware bring-up.
- Integrate and optimize embedded software components for real-time systems.
- Develop and maintain GPU drivers for embedded platforms.
- Design and implement embedded graphics solutions using OpenGL.
- Optimize graphics performance for real-time applications.
- Apply strong knowledge of multi-core processor architecture and system-level behavior.
- Analyze processor performance across multiple CPU cores and GPU interactions.
- Understand and optimize:
- Memory controller architecture
- Cache hierarchy (L1, L2, L3)
- DDR/main memory systems
- Monitor and analyze shared resource utilization using:
- Performance counters
- Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms
- System performance profiling tools
- Perform Worst-Case Execution Time (WCET) analysis considering interference from:
- GPU
- I/O subsystems
- SSD
- FPGA
- Other shared hardware resources
- Work with DEOS RTOS or equivalent real-time operating systems.
- Implement cache partitioning techniques.
- Support resource isolation and deterministic system behavior.
- Support software development aligned with aerospace and safety-critical standards.
- Familiarity with FAA AC 20-193 guidance for multi-core processor certification is highly desirable.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in Embedded Graphics Development using OpenGL.
