Job Description

Position: Business Specialist

Supervisor: Business Manager and Finance Director

Work Schedule: Contract Days: 249, Contract

Hours:

8 hours/day, Non-Exempt

Qualifications
  • High school diploma; additional account experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with solid mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in operating standard office equipment, including PCs and related systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and financial software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Skilled in interacting courteously and tactfully with staff and the public.
  • Proven ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and discretion.
  • Committed to maintaining strict confidentiality.
Physical Requirements

Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 lbs.), reaching, squatting, kneeling.

Performance Responsibilities
  • Collect hours worked data for all district employees.
  • Maintain employee cumulative time information.
  • Verify and post employee leave entries.
  • Management of employee benefits.
  • Compile data for managing Affordable Care Act eligibility and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain Time and Effort Reporting documents and reports.
  • Receipt money received in the Business Office.
  • Upload, maintain and monitor monthly request for reimbursements (RFR's).
  • Communicate with locations to verify information submitted to Business Office, when needed.
  • Clerical duties: filing, faxing, copying, etc.
  • Daily mail/bank runs for Business Office.
  • Will cross train with other positions in Business Office, as time allows.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
