What You'll Do Grant Administration & Special Projects- Research and pursue federal, state, tribal, and private funding opportunities.
- Prepare compelling grant applications, budgets, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with grant management from application through closeout.
- Track funding opportunities, reporting deadlines, and project schedules.
- Coordinate procurement activities in compliance with City policies and the New Mexico Procurement Code.
- Monitor budgets, reimbursements, expenditures, and grant compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with consultants, engineers, contractors, architects, surveyors, and funding agencies.
- Prepare reports, presentations, correspondence, and project documentation for leadership and governing bodies.
- Support the development of scopes of work, budgets, funding strategies, and capital improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate the review and processing of planning, zoning, subdivision, and development applications.
- Provide excellent customer service to residents, property owners, developers, and business owners.
- Assist with development reviews and ensure compliance with City regulations and ordinances.
- Support code enforcement tracking and compliance activities.
- Prepare public notices, staff reports, and meeting materials.
- Present routine planning and zoning matters before the Planning Commission and City Council.
- Maintain planning and zoning records, maps, files, and databases.
- Assist with ordinance updates, comprehensive planning efforts, and long‑range community development initiatives.
- Maintain records, schedules, databases, and departmental files.
- Prepare agendas, minutes, reports, and correspondence.
- Assist with public information and website updates.
- Cross‑train with other administrative staff and provide support as needed.

Minimum Qualifications Education & Experience- High school diploma or GED plus two (2) years of specialized training or experience in grant administration, project coordination, procurement, planning and zoning, municipal administration, or a related field; OR
- Associate degree or coursework in planning and zoning, public administration, business administration, construction management, or a related field (preferred); OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of office administration, records management, and customer service principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and standard office technologies.
- Understanding of grants management, project coordination, procurement, planning and zoning, or municipal operations.
- Ability to interpret ordinances, regulations, policies, and grant requirements.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
