Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the site principal, the IRS focuses on student achievement and instructional support for the core subject areas (Math, ELA, Science, Social Studies) as indicated in the BHS 90 Day Plan. The IRS will assist in non-formal evaluative classroom observations and feedback sessions to develop and improve classroom instructional practices. The IRS will collaborate with and support teachers in regards to data driven instructional practices that support individualized student needs and lead to improved academic performance.
Collaboration and instructional support will be provided through professional development and data support.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Education (or related field) with proven abilities in Data Driven Instruction (Master's Degree preferred).
* Valid Level 3 New Mexico Teaching License. Valid Administrative License Preferred.
Physical Requirements:
sitting, standing, lifting, carrying (up to 50 lbs.), reaching, squatting and kneeling.
Performance Responsibilities:
In addition to other duties assigned by the principal, the IRS shall:
* Model and support effective instructional strategies.
* Complete regular walkthrough and feedback sessions to support instruction.
* Coach teachers from a growth mindset point of view to support the development of level D3 & D4 teachers.
* Provide professional development as assigned and as needed for instructional improvement.
* Gather and interpret data to support and improve instruction.
* Provide Teacher Action Plan support and follow up through classroom walkthroughs and feedback sessions.
* Computer skills to support CFAs and CIAs (Edulastic).
* Serve on and provide support for the 90 Day Plan Core Team.
* Support the development of curriculum and effective lesson plans.
* Participate in and support PLCs.
* Assist and support teachers in their advancement to Level 2 and Level 3 in the NMPED tiered licensure system.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Education.
* Valid New Mexico teaching license with endorsements as needed.
* Proven abilities in reading and/or math preferred
* Gifted endorsement preferred or willing to pursue gifted endorsement.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 lbs.), reaching, squatting, kneeling and moving light furniture may be required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
In addition to other duties assigned by the principal, the IRS shall:
* Demonstrate state teacher competencies and indicators specific to level of licensure;
* Model effective instructional strategies.
* Provide a classroom model for academic instruction with students;
* Observe/conference/coach teachers in implementing effective instructional practices;
* Provide staff development to teachers on areas relating to literacy and math;
* Organize interventions, including tutoring programs, to improve student achievement;
* Assist with the assessment process, data collection for program planning and all reports as required;
* Monitor and assist teachers in using student assessment data to guide instructional change;
* Facilitate communication with the leadership team, school staff and community regarding academicissues;
* Serve as a member of the SAT/RtI process;
* Serve on district level committees as required.
Work Environment
Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions of work are routine. Flexibility and patience are required. Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignments without direct supervision. After hour work may be required. May make site or home visits when needed and appropriate.
