Operator, Compressor Station (Bloomfield, NM) – 000

• Operate and maintain gathering system compressor stations. Perform daily documentation of equipment, preventive maintenance, housekeeping, maximize throughput, and perform minor maintenance on engines, compressors, separators, generators, flares and cooling fans. Conduct line locates in and around the compressor station.
• Collaborate with craft personnel to resolve equipment and system problems in a timely manner.
• Operate compressor stations that may include 3612 Caterpillar engines driving aerial compressors or centrifugal compressors totaling close to 200,000 hp.
• Troubleshoot abnormal operations and coordinate/monitor activities of contractor personnel assigned to the area.
• Identify emergency situations and initiate emergency response procedures.
• Complete and maintain required reports and logs; monitor and adjust equipment to maintain optimum availability and efficiency.
• Work with various equipment types, including 3612 Caterpillar engines, solar gas turbines, solar gensets, and electric motor-driven centrifugal compressors.
• Ensure timely resolution of issues by coordinating with maintenance and operations teams.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Technical certification or equivalent training in a mechanical environment or energy-related field preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Minimum of 3 years of stable work history, preferably in the energy industry and/or technical training in mechanical and/or electrical fields.
• Strong commitment to personal and job safety; demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment.
• Ability to read prints, drawings and technical manuals and to prepare technical reports.
• Dexterity in the use of tools and equipment; basic mathematical calculations and computer skills with MS Office (spreadsheets and word processing).
• Good verbal/written communication, decision-making skills, and strong work ethic.
• Ability to maintain and promote good working relationships within a team and to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to work overtime, handle call-outs, and live or relocate within 1 hour of the job assignment.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors around industrial and electrical equipment; may require climbing and working in confined spaces or at heights.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, carrying up to 75 lbs, and applying torque as required; be able to get in and out of vehicles and ride over rough roads.
• Must wear and be able to use safety equipment and emergency breathing apparatus as needed.
