Mechanical Engineer

Calgon Carbon Corporation seeks a Mechanical Engineer I to support design, testing, and improvement of mechanical systems for activated carbon and filtration products in our Moon Township manufacturing operations. In this entry-level role, you will create CAD models and drawings, assist with equipment layouts, perform basic calculations, and support validation and troubleshooting of plant equipment. Working with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, you'll contribute to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement projects that protect water, air, and the environment while building your engineering career in a global, mission-driven company.

Responsibilities

• Support design, analysis, and improvement of mechanical systems for activated carbon and filtration products
• Prepare 3
• D models, detail drawings, and specifications using CAD tools
• Assist in equipment selection, layout, and integration for manufacturing operations
• Perform basic calculations, tolerance analyses, and material selection under guidance
• Support testing, validation, and troubleshooting of mechanical components and systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in manufacturing, quality, and EHS to resolve issues
• Document design changes, test results, and engineering reports to meet standards
• Contribute to continuous improvement, reliability, and safety initiatives on the plant floor
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for mechanical failures
• Communicate project status, risks, and findings to engineers and supervisors
