Job Description - Special Education Qualifications
A valid Illinois teaching license with required endorsements, registered in DuPage County.
Performance Responsibilities- Provide specialized instruction in all areas of academic, functional and social emotional development for students who qualify for services.
- Support the least restrictive environment for students by providing instruction in both special education and general education settings through co‑teaching.
- Serve as the case manager for students they serve including coordination of services, required paperwork and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
- Write student goals and monitor progress on those goals.
- Collaborate with other specialists, general education staff and administration to coordinate support and services to maximize student growth.
- Provide training and support to general education teachers of the students they serve.
- Communicate with parents on student progress and to build a partnership on behalf of the student.
- Support district initiatives such as RtI and MTSS
- Other duties as assigned by administration.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms to reach. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk and occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Terms of EmploymentTen-month year. Salary to be established by the Board. Criminal background check required for hire, employment contingent on appropriate results.
