Overview
- Responsible for evaluating alternatives leading to the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for new and existing products to optimize cost and quality
- Owns all aspects of process engineering, industrial engineering, production standard costs, tooling and equipment procurement
- Improves operating performance, identifies and reduces waste, and troubleshoots manufacturing issues
- Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs
- Applies knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials
- Works with equipment vendors and gathers input from operators
- Develops manufacturing processes by researching, designing, modifying, and testing methods and equipment
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, and professional societies
- Identifies opportunities to improve products or reduce costs using fabrication, tooling, equipment, assembly, and quality standards
- Determines root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommends corrective actions
- Evaluates manufactured products to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards
- Implements new methods and processes to improve existing operations
- Investigates and resolves operational problems such as material variances and bottlenecks
- Prepares documentation for new manufacturing processes and engineering procedures
- Provides technical expertise and support related to manufacturing
- Coordinates scrap reduction, rework elimination, material and labor variance reduction, safety and ergonomic evaluations, and continuous improvement activities
- Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
- Reads and interprets customer and industry specifications
- Maintains proper documentation including traceability, customer requirements, and production routers
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes including assembly and testing
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- 0–3 years of manufacturing or related experience
- Proficiency with CAD software;
AutoCAD is a plus
