Overview
Trillium is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Bloomingdale! Join a leading high-precision Industrial Gas Turbine and Aerospace machining firm in a Direct Hire role that shapes the future of turbine technology. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a vital, hands-on role in producing turbine blades and vanes for world-class gas turbine manufacturers and the military worldwide.
In this exciting position, you’ll report directly to the Director of Engineering and help drive new product development, process optimization, and production excellence. You’ll work with advanced equipment—CNC milling, EDM, creep feed, and 5-axis CBN grinding—to develop, qualify, and perfect manufacturing processes in a dynamic, high-precision environment.
Responsibilities- Lead process development and optimization for complex turbine components using EDM, CNC milling, and 3-/5-axis grinding.
- Act as the primary customer engineering contact, driving technical communication, change requests, and legacy product restarts.
- Define and refine machining strategies, tooling, and parameters to improve quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with Quality, Operations, and Tooling teams on robust manufacturing solutions, audits, and documentation (AS9100, FAI).
- Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap and enhance throughput.
- Utilize CAD/CAM tools (Mastercam, Solid Works) for programming, verification, and operator training.
- Mentor junior engineers while maintaining a strong hands-on presence on the shop floor, following all safety protocols, and handling physical tasks up to 50 lbs.
Schedule:
1st shift, Monday – Friday. Pay rate: $90,000 to $120,000 DOE.
- 5–10 years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience in regulated industries such as Aerospace, Gas Power, or Automotive.
- Proven expertise in CNC Milling, Wire/Sink EDM, and Creep Feed or CBN Grinding.
- Strong background in process development, NPI, and manufacturing documentation.
- Proficient with CAD/CAM tools, including Mastercam, Solid Works, and Vericut.
- Skilled in interpreting complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing experience.
- Familiarity with ISO, AS9100, or similar aerospace manufacturing standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Experience machining superalloys such as Inconel or Hastelloy.
- Background in legacy product restarts or reverse engineering.
- Familiarity with Haas controls and CNC programming optimization.
- Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Continuous Improvement certification.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
