The Production Manager provides leadership and expertise in establishing and maintaining an efficient manufacturing program in support of the division’s strategic plan. This position is responsible for coordinating resources and supervising the manufacturing of scheduled production, ensuring that production requirements are met within set budgets and quality requirements in a safe and orderly manner.
Responsibilities- Lead production operations to achieve on‑time delivery, quality, and cost targets
- Manage supervisors across a multi‑shift facility
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track production goals and daily achievements
- Remove production obstacles, coordinating staffing, training, equipment maintenance, and supplies
- Collaborate with supply chain, quality, engineering, and customer service teams to improve efficiency and reduce lead times
- Oversee bill of material (BOM) and work‑in‑progress (WIP) inventory
- Manage parts supply, maintenance schedules, and safety procedures for equipment
- Investigate and resolve process concerns using root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Drive process improvement and ensure accountability for project deadlines
- Enforce company policies, including safety, attendance, training, preventive maintenance, and quality standards
- Perform management duties: hire, train, schedule, evaluate, and manage production staff; address performance and resolve issues
- Prepare cost and budget estimates in support of the budgeting process
- Operate within established budgets for volume, scrap, and labor
- Measure and report operator efficiency and quality performance
- Support new product introduction, including pilot builds and ramp‑up to volume production
- Conduct audits on preventive maintenance, in‑process checks, and production metrics
- Develop and maintain procedures and instructions in an ISO 9001 environment, ensuring employee compliance
- Experience using ERP systems (Oracle, SAP or other equivalent systems)
- Strong knowledge of assembly lines and work cell manufacturing and processes
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts
- Communication – Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers, internal and external customers, and key stakeholders
- Direction – Ability to train and direct employees to encourage them to complete assigned tasks within given deadlines
- Leadership – Ability to guide, inspire, and influence others to achieve common goals. This includes setting a vision, making strategic decisions, and motivating a team to work collaboratively
- Problem Solving – Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues that arise to maintain smooth operations and achieve strategic goals
- Bachelor’s degree required; engineering degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience working in a production, operations, or technical environment
- Minimum 2 years of production management experience
- Demonstrated leadership capability, including the ability to guide teams, influence outcomes, or lead initiatives
- Up to 10 % travel is expected for this position
