Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all inspection activities for the shift, including dispositioning of materials.
  • Conduct and document investigations as necessary.
  • Oversee and monitor the day‑to‑day operation of assigned area(s) to ensure smooth flow and efficient production.
  • Implement quality and process improvement initiatives in conjunction with quality and operations personnel.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement systems, processes, and activities to improve inspection and sampling productivity on all shifts.
  • Ensure availability of adequate materials and supplies necessary to conduct sampling and inspections.
  • Conduct current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) training of MQ personnel and operations personnel.
  • Assist with customer complaint investigations.
  • Conduct internal audits for cGMP compliance as needed.
  • Perform inspections and root cause analysis (RCA) on manufacturing holds/deviations.
  • Provide long‑term preventive action measures for manufacturing deviations/holds.
  • Assist Packaging and Processing departments with troubleshooting and resolving daily issues.
  • Coordinate implementation of rework with production personnel and track status of lots on HINV status.
  • Track deviations and holds, ensuring timely completion.
  • Review and update departmental SOPs to assure cGMP compliance.
  • Ensure policies, safety rules, FSMA standards, and GMPs are followed and enforced.
  • Actively participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure key performance indicators in the manufacturing quality area are met or exceeded.
  • Support positive employee relations and fair treatment, addressing employee concerns timely.
  • Participate in Tier II meetings.
  • Close hold and deviation investigations in a timely manner.
  • Assign daily tasks to the MQ Inspection team.
  • Create, update, and review SOPs, Work Instructions, Forms, Master Manufacturing Records, and other documentation.
  • Communicate safety information to the department and facilitate safety activities.
  • Lead daily safety inspections and incident investigations.
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, SOPs, safe work practices, and safety programs.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety and regulatory responsibilities.
  • Report all workplace incidents, hazards, and prevention measures to management promptly.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise MQ employees on the shift.
  • Ensure compliance with production rules, company health and safety rules, and quality standards.
  • Perform supervisory duties in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws.
  • Conduct interview, hiring, and training of new employees.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work, appraise performance, reward, discipline, and resolve complaints.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a science field with at least 2 years related experience
    * or* minimum five years quality-related experience
    * or* an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Prior lead experience required.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in quality processes, inspection, and GMP environment preferred.
  • Previous dietary supplement industry experience preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with Word and Excel required.
  • Understanding of quality concepts involved in food and dietary supplement manufacturing.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing including 5S and Lean practices helpful.
Performance Ability

Effectively coordinate and lead team activities to meet key performance indicators set by manager, with strong emphasis on employees, safety, food safety, and quality. Demonstrate real‑time critical decision making, monitor KPIs, and make proactive staffing decisions. Drive employee‑based performance through coaching and collaboration with other departments, and model company core values.
