Overview

As the Supervisor of the Brake Department on 2nd shift, you will lead a team of skilled operators and technicians, managing workflows, equipment, and safety protocols to meet production targets. Your expertise will ensure that our pressing operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely, supporting the company's commitment to quality and operational excellence. This hands-on leadership role offers a vital opportunity to influence manufacturing processes and team development in a collaborative environment dedicated to innovation and improvement.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in press brake operation or metal fabrication.
  • At least 2+ years of supervisory or team lead experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC press brake machinery, tooling, setup, and operational procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical specifications.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills to motivate and develop staff.
  • Competence in analyzing production metrics and implementing process improvements.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and quality standards such as ISO 9001.
  • OSHA safety training or certification, with understanding of safety regulations and procedures.

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Additional training or certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
  • Background in troubleshooting CNC machinery and tooling optimization.
  • Exposure to cross-department collaboration including Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance.
  • Bilingual skills to support diverse workforce.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training related to manufacturing preferred.
  • 5+ years of direct press brake or metal fabrication experience.
  • Demonstrated supervisory or team lead success in a manufacturing environment.
  • Industry certifications related to safety and quality management systems.

Other Requirements

  • Onsite role requiring physical presence during scheduled hours on the 2nd shift (Monday-Friday).
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, and lift up to 25 pounds periodically.
  • Willingness to participate in continuous improvement initiatives like Lean or Six Sigma projects.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adherence to OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Occasional exposure to loud noise and moving machinery; compliance with PPE and safety protocols mandatory.
