Press Brake Set-Up III - 1st shift

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a Press Brake Set Up III to perform a variety of duties to set-up and adjust specialized tooling and equipment on brake machines, for production or assembly processes. This role requires extensive knowledge of press brake operations, tooling, and programming to ensure precision bending and forming of metal components. May also assign personnel to various duties. May serve as a Lead in the absence of a lead or supervisor.

• Performs set-up duties to prepare brake machines and processes, for production or assembly
• Installs, adjusts, changes, and aligns tooling and equipment, to prepare for production operations
• Works from schedules and instructions to analyze machines, process problems, and/or determine solutions
• Monitors processes and recommends improvements to increase productivity and assure quality
• Uses precision measuring tools on a continuous basis to verify accuracy of formed products, based on AQL frequency
• Assures that all materials are available at machines and workstations
• Ensures proper quality during all phases of production, including materials and packaging
• Operates the brake machine to assemble sheets, bend and form metal, in a consistent manner in accordance with customer specifications
• Adjusts to ensure proper placement on a consistent basis
• Ensures angles and dimensions are correct
• Ensures the proper sequence of process and required quantity of output
• Make minor adjustments and clear alarms
• Read blueprints
• Understand the assembly process and the movement of completed components
• Uses safety straps, machine guards, and/or laser guards, maintaining a ¼‑inch gap to ensure safe machine operation
• Uses precision measuring tools such as a caliper, height gauge, and other tools on a continuous basis to verify accuracy of formed products, based on AQL frequency
• Ensures that all materials are available at machines and workstations and are of proper quality during all phases of production, including materials and packaging
• Assures efficient production through all phases of their area of production
• Executes proper inspection methods to receive approval to start a job and make periodic quality checks of product to ensure that quality standards are met, and also assists operators with training in proper inspection techniques
• Assists in maintaining equipment and keeping work areas clean and orderly
• Instructs and assists operators and other workers in machine operation, process setup, quality standards, and process documentation
• Assists operators with measuring, blueprint‑reading, and minor adjustments
• Report and prevent equipment and process malfunctions, material discrepancies, and documentation errors
• Works within his/her area to assure production flows in an efficient manner. This includes planning for smooth transition to the next schedule job for their area
• Ensure that all paperwork and documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner
• May perform the duties of Brake Operator I, II, or III, as necessary
• May train new employees, provide work instruction, and answer questions in the absence of a lead or supervisor

• 5+ years of experience operating and setting up press brake machines in a metal manufacturing environment
• Set Up assigned department machines and complete processes to company specifications on a consistent basis, to be operator‑ready with minimal adjustments required and minimal scrap
• Understand the assembly and machine operations process and the movement of completed component
• Produce a high‑quality product according to required specifications on a consistent basis
• Produce the required quantity of product according to required output specifications
• Use computers as required
• Use measuring tools as required
• Read and understand Blueprints
• Complete necessary paperwork accurately and timely
• Operate all hand tools, machines and equipment successfully as required and with minimal supervision
• Work as a productive team member who contributes to the organizations’ success
