Abrasive Form is a world leader in high precision Aerospace and Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) machining. We machine turbine blades and vanes for many of the largest gas turbine manufacturers, aerospace and power industries around the world. We use high precision CNC milling, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and 3 and 5-axis creep feed and CBN grinding.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Create, Operate, troubleshoot & modify CMM programs, desired in PC‑DMIS.
- Work with CMM Programmer on new product development and with Quality Engineer on any quality issues.
- Inspect parts & improve production throughput.
- Troubleshoot old programs to improve CMM run time.
- Measure production parts on the CMM as needed.
- Basic understanding of AS9100 Quality Management systems & working with frozen planning.
- Participate in root cause identification & implementation of corrective action.
- Keep work area clean, organized, and free from clutter.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience using a CMM. PC‑DMIS is preferred.
- 3 years of manufacturing experience in tight tolerance production.
- Strong ability to interpret Engineering drawings / blueprints / GD&T specifications.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a supportive manufacturing role.
- Familiar with inspection techniques and bench gauge equipment such as micrometers, dial indicators, drop gages, optical comparators, etc.
- Ability to recognize and identify discrepancies in measuring equipment, parts, or inspection equipment.
- Must be able to read and interpret complex blueprints for custom gages.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts as business need dictates.
- 5S standards experience preferred.
- Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Prior experience working in aerospace manufacturing industry.
Talking, hearing, and using hands to operate calibration equipment and tools. Must be able to lift parts at least 25lbs frequently and on occasion up to 50lbs at or above waist level. The ability to use a computer is required. Must be able to work on your feet in a manufacturing environment. Physical ability to do work requiring frequent lifting, twisting, standing, stooping, and bending.
WorkingEnvironment
Usual manufacturing environment with temperature fluctuations, noise from and interactions with equipment, and safety standards of PPE and practices required.
