School Nurse

Job Description

Marklund (nonprofit) is hiring a Full-Time School Nurse (RN or LPN) at the Marklund Day School in Bloomingdale, IL. The nurse will address the health needs of students and coordinate with staff, families, healthcare providers, and community agencies to provide a comprehensive school health program that facilitates appropriate educational opportunities for students. Hours are 8 a.m.–4 p.m., Monday–Friday. The hourly rate ranges from $29.25–$34 for LPNs and $31.25–$36 for RNs, based on qualifications and experience.

• Administers medications
• Tube feedings and treatments as prescribed
• Prepare annual health history as needed for students
• Attendance at student IDT and IEP meetings as needed
• Complete daily documentation as required

• Registered Nurse (BSN), current on the Illinois Health Care Worker Registry
• Current BLS CPR certification for Healthcare Workers
• Proficient First Aid skills
• IDPH certification to perform annual vision screening (preferred)
• Prior nursing experience in a school setting desired
• Must be able to perform essential functions of the job and meet functional and environmental requirements
