Position Overview
RN – Immediate Care Center – Bloomingdale Clinic.
Hours:
Monday through Friday 9am – 9pm, rotating weekends 9am – 4pm.
- Patient Assessment and Treatment
:
Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Assists provider in taking histories, obtaining vital signs, and preparing patients for routine exams or procedures, including collecting and processing specimens. Observes, records, and reports patient condition and reaction to treatments or drugs. Administers first aid, immunizations, and injections; assists provider with minor surgical procedures, including application or removal of casts, molds, splints, sutures, and staples.
Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing techniques and provider direction (including oral, cutaneous, intramuscular, subcutaneous, and IV routes for RNs). Prepares and orders tests, fills lab requisitions and referral forms per provider request, tracks and obtains test results, and notifies patients as directed. Assesses physical, age‑specific, and psycho‑social needs related to disease process, treatment, and education. - Patient Documentation
:
Maintains accurate, detailed patient records, charts, and other pertinent information; posts test and examination results. Ensures chart and lab results are available, complete, and secured. - Patient/Family Education
:
Delivers education tailored to patient needs and provider direction. Educates patients and/or family about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and health maintenance. Responds to patient questions, providing reassurance and addressing concerns. - Triage Phone Response
:
Responds to or refers incoming treatment‑related calls. Triages patient messages per departmental policy, assists with test or admission arrangements, prescription calls, and same‑day message prioritization. Under provider direction, RNs assess patient needs; LPNs convey symptoms to RN, physician, PA, or NA. - Safety Procedures
:
Maintains routine medical equipment, cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes instruments per CDC and OSHA standards. Follows group policy for handling blood and body fluids and uses PPE appropriately. Maintains quality assurance records of disinfection. - Clinical Resource for Staff
:
Performs and delegates tasks to facilitate patient visits and procedures. Aware of coding and reimbursement issues. Provides assistance and answers questions for clinical and non‑clinical staff. Assists in orienting and training new staff and seeks opportunities for skill and leadership development. - Other Duties as Assigned
:
Maintain medication count, inventory drugs, ensure proper transport of expired medications, schedule tests and procedures, and obtain insurance pre‑authorization as needed.
- Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing program.
- Knowledge of nursing skills in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Current and valid Illinois Nurse License.

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $32.65–$49.00, determined by skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
