Maintenance Technician I – 1st Shift
Cadrex is searching for a Maintenance Technician I to perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machinery, facility equipment, and physical structures according to safety and preventive maintenance systems and processes. Sign‑on bonus: $1,000.
Responsibilities- Install new production machinery and equipment.
- Visually inspect and listen to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and adjust.
- Detect faulty operations, defective materials or equipment and report as required.
- Dismantle machines and equipment to gain access to problem area.
- Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.
- Provide emergency service and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
- Perform scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service.
- Start machines and equipment to test operation following repair.
- Repair broken parts, replace defective parts and motors, belts, and adjust feed mechanisms.
- Connect wire to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment; replace switches and fuses; splice wire and insulate with friction tape.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.
- Patch or replace plaster/plaster board and paint walls, ceilings, and trim of buildings.
- Clear clogged drains and replace plumbing fixtures.
- Clean work areas, tools, and equipment.
- Remove dirt, dust, grease, and waste material from machines.
- Centrally lubricate machine parts.
- Perform routine housekeeping in and around buildings as required.
- May be required to use personal vehicle at times for work assignments.
- May be required to purchase own tools for use on the job.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a variety of hand tools and understand mechanical processes.
- Electronics knowledge and basic knowledge of hydraulics.
- Previous experience in a machine shop performing maintenance mechanic duties preferred.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Demonstrated ability to read electrical schematics.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
