Position Title: Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a growth company and an expanding accounting team. • Reconcile daily banking activity, bank statements and account balances monthly
• Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger
• Participate in month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and preparation of supporting documentation
• Responsible for general and inventory accounting
  • Generate financial reports and variance analysis; ability to analyze financial data, reconcile accounts and identify trends or discrepancies
• Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and company accounting policies.
• Support the corporate rate structure for government contractors
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, control enhancements, and documentation standardization
• Perform ad hoc reporting and special projects as requested

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles
• Understanding of internal controls, including Sarbanes Oxley compliance

• Government contracting is a plus
• CPA certification or in-process certification preferred but not required
• Experience with Unanet and Deltek Costpoint is a plus

Virginia Pay Range: $80,000 — $95,000 USD
