The Grant Management Specialist (Executive I) supports the Illinois Department on Aging by managing complex grant activities for Area Agencies on Aging. The role involves analyzing cash requests, compiling financial data, tracking programmatic outcomes, and preparing performance reports for federal and state funded programs. This position requires strong attention to detail, proficiency with grant management software, and expertise in governmental accounting and budgeting.
Keyqualifications
- One year of grant management experience
- One year of advanced MS Excel functions (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, INDEX + MATCH, pivot tables, power queries, macros, or VBA)
- Four years of college coursework, preferably in business or public administration, plus one year of responsible administrative experience
- Preferred: one year managing multiple grants simultaneously with error rate less than 1%
- Preferred: knowledge of governmental accounting, program budgeting, personnel administration, statistics, and procurement
- Preferred: experience with Amplifund or equivalent grant management software
