Excel Prep offers two distinct programs designed to meet the needs of diverse learners ages 3-13:
PreK-8 Academic ProgramOur PreK-8 Academic Program is grounded in Direct Instruction and Precision Teaching. Instruction focuses on core academic skills-reading, writing, and mathematics-using explicit, systematic teaching methods that emphasize mastery, fluency, and generalization. This program is designed for students with learning disabilities and neurodiverse profiles who benefit from structured, data-driven instruction.
Clinical ABA Program (Ages 3-13)Our ABA Program is cognition-linguistically based and emphasizes instruction within a structured environment. The program integrates Applied Behavior Analysis with teaching strategies that support language development, reasoning, executive functioning, and social competence. Instruction is individualized, data-driven, and focused on building foundational skills that support learning, communication, and independence.

- Precision Teaching and data-based decision-making
- Instruction grounded in behavior science research
- Occupational Therapy as a prioritized therapy alongside ABA in support of sensorimotor development

Position SummaryExcel Prep Schools is seeking a dependable, polished, and highly organized Administrative Assistant to support the daily operations of our Bloomington, IL location. This role serves as a key point of contact for staff, families, and visitors while helping ensure smooth and efficient administrative operations across the school.
The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, welcoming, and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced educational environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide day-to-day administrative and clerical support to school leadership and program staff
- Answer phones, return messages, and respond to email inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Greet families, staff, and visitors and assist with front office needs
- Maintain organized student, staff, and program records in accordance with confidentiality requirements
- Assist with data entry, filing, document preparation, and internal reporting
- Support scheduling for meetings, appointments, and school/program activities
- Coordinate office supplies, forms, and administrative materials
- Support communication between families, instructional staff, and service providers
- Assist with onboarding paperwork, internal tracking, and general administrative processes
- Maintain a professional, organized, and welcoming office environment
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior administrative, receptionist, or office support experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Experience in a school, clinic, healthcare, or child-centered setting
- Familiarity with scheduling systems, student records, or education-related administrative work
- Experience supporting children, families, and multidisciplinary teams
