Envision Unlimited is a large non‑profit agency with locations on the north and south sides of Chicago. We provide day program, residential, case management, career, and therapeutic services to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or mental illness in our continued commitment to provide persons with disabilities or other special needs. In addition, we provide foster care services for children in the Chicagoland area.

We are looking for a Child Welfare Worker Supervisor to join the team in our Foster Care program to work with families who were brought to the attention of DCFS because of an indicated finding from a child abuse/neglect investigation.

Qualifications:
  • Master’s of Social Work degree or an equivalent Master’s degree in a Human Services related field as indicated in DCFS Rule 401, appendix G.
  • 4‑5 years experience in child welfare. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must pass DCFS licensing Child Care Act, CERAP exam and Illinois Child Welfare Specialist Licensure Exam within first six months of employment.
  • Knowledge of Juvenile Court System and DCFS Rules and Regulations.
  • Must have daily use of a reliable car and valid driver’s license.
  • Train staff, foster parents, volunteers, and/or interns on an as‑needed basis.
  • Promote program compliance and best practice by contributing to the Foster Care and Adoption Program Operations Manual, On‑Call Binder, Foster Parent Implementation Plan, and the likes.
  • Manages workflow of the case management team including case assignments in line with DCFS policies and procedures.
  • Obtain 402 and Child Care Act Certifications.
  • Works cooperatively with other managers in program development and strategic planning.
Purpose:

Provide supervision of assigned child welfare workers and ensure that clients are receiving quality care and treatment.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Orient, train and supervise Case Managers assigned to the team and complete performance evaluations at appropriate intervals.
  • Ensure that Case Managers assigned to the team are adequately prepared for ACR's and Court Hearings. Attend ACR's and Courts in the worker's absence.
  • Conduct Pre‑ACR Staffings at least once a month prior to the scheduled ACR and include natural parents, age‑appropriate children, foster parents and other relevant individuals. Ensure that the Service Plans meet DCFS Standards.
  • Review and approve all Case Assessments, Service Plans, Permanency Plans and Visitation Plans and ensure that each is prepared in a timely manner and meets agency standards.
  • Ensure that referrals are made aggressively and redundantly in efforts to engage the natural parents and provide a path for reunification.
  • Review outside referrals and ensure that adequate follow‑up takes place.
  • Coordinate initial placements and follow‑up placements with the Licensing/Recruitment Supervisor and ensure that all services are in place in accordance with agency deadlines.
  • Document, respond to, resolve disposition and follow‑up on unusual incidents in a timely manner (within 48 hours).
  • Provide "Supervision" for each Case Manager assigned to the team by formally staffing each child on the caseload in one setting, on a monthly basis.
  • Arrange the Director in response to critical alerts from ACR. Arrange Critical Decision Staffing with the Director, as needed.
  • Review all case files monthly on SACWIS and ensure that documentation is adequate and current and meets contractual obligations.
  • Review all case files quarterly and ensure that documentation is adequate, current and maintained in Administrative Procedure #5 format.
