Project Manager - Data Centers

Location: Chicagoland, IL (Local Candidates Preferred)

Compensation: $140,000–$180,000 Base Salary + Annual Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits + Car Allowance

Our client is an established and highly respected commercial general contractor launching a new business division focused on mission-critical construction. This is a rare opportunity to join at the ground level and play a key role in building a high-growth Data Center division backed by the resources, financial strength, and reputation of an established construction organization. We're seeking an experienced Project Manager who thrives in fast-paced, technically complex environments and wants to help shape the future of a growing division.

The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of data center construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This individual will work closely with owners, design teams, subcontractors, and field leadership while helping establish best practices for a rapidly expanding mission-critical construction team.

• Manage multiple data center construction projects throughout the Chicagoland region.
• Lead projects from preconstruction planning through final turnover.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts.
• Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Monitor project financial performance and profitability.
• Lead project meetings and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company standards.
• Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions.
• Mentor Project Engineers and support field leadership as the team continues to grow.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of Project Management experience with a commercial general contractor.
• Previous experience managing mission-critical and/or data center construction projects is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems and complex building infrastructure.
• Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, and client relationships.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar construction management software.
• Base Salary: $140,000–$180,000, depending on experience
