Lead the Jobsite. Own the Outcome.Legacy Power is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to oversee utility-scale and commercial solar construction projects throughout Illinois to start in October
.
This role is ideal for someone who has successfully led field operations, understands the pace and complexity of solar construction, and can confidently manage projects with minimal oversight.
You'll serve as the field leader responsible for keeping projects moving safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while working closely with Project Management and company leadership. What You'll Do- Direct all daily construction operations from mobilization through project closeout
- Lead company employees and subcontractors
- Coordinate schedules, manpower, equipment, and material deliveries
- Maintain project productivity while ensuring exceptional quality
- Conduct daily safety meetings and jobsite inspections
- Complete QA/QC inspections and project documentation
- Coordinate inspections with utilities, AHJs, and project stakeholders
- Identify and resolve field issues proactively
- Partner with Project Managers and Construction Managers to keep projects on schedule and within scope
You bring:
- 3+ years supervising commercial construction projects
- Strong experience in solar and/or electrical construction
- The confidence to independently manage active jobsites
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to read construction, structural, civil, and electrical drawings
- Working knowledge of the NEC
- OSHA 10 certification (OSHA 30 preferred)
- Experience with QA/QC processes and project closeout
- A valid driver's license
Electrical licensing is preferred but not required. Civil and mechanical construction experience is also valued.
This position regularly requires the ability to:- Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and direct sunlight.
- Walk the jobsite regularly to monitor progress, observe work quality, and support field personnel throughout the workday.
- Stand, walk, climb ladders, kneel, crouch, bend, and navigate uneven terrain for extended periods.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Wear and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility clothing, and fall protection when required.
- Safely access and work on active construction sites while maintaining constant awareness of changing site conditions.
- Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Operate or work safely around construction equipment, tools, and heavy machinery.
- Maintain visual acuity sufficient to inspect work quality, identify potential hazards, and read construction drawings and documentation.
- Communicate effectively in noisy construction environments using verbal communication, radios, and mobile devices.
- Travel to assigned project sites as required, including occasional overnight travel depending on project location.
