Salary/Benefits

The minimum starting compensation for a full-time position is $43,066 (2025-26 school year) and $43,496 (2026-27 school year) and may be increased depending on education level and years of applicable teaching experience as outlined in the union agreement.

We also have the Bloomington Career Academy which provides career exploration opportunities to high school students at Bloomington High School and surrounding school districts.

Our district is committed to investing in YOU! Because we want our new staff to feel prepared for the start of the year, we will be providing a paid, 4-day onboarding experience for all teachers who are new to District 87 this coming August. This training opportunity will allow you to learn about your building, our district, our District 87 community and provides you with time to set up your classroom/workspace prior to the school year.
