School Social Worker - Elementary through High School
About the Position
Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated School Social Worker for a full-time, onsite opportunity supporting students during the school year. This education industry position offers the opportunity to serve multiple grade levels while collaborating with experienced special education professionals in supportive school environments. The selected candidate will split their time between two school districts located in the greater Bloomington, Illinois area.
This contract role provides a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students' social, emotional, and academic success. The School Social Worker will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support student development and help create positive learning environments.
Job Details
The position will be based in the Bloomington, Illinois region and involves providing services across two nearby school districts. The School Social Worker will support elementary, middle, and high school students through a variety of direct and indirect services. This is a full-time assignment for the entire academic year.
Compensation ranges from $40 to $47 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Candidates will have access to professional support and collaboration opportunities throughout the duration of the contract.
Responsibilities
The School Social Worker will conduct evaluations and assessments to help identify student needs and determine appropriate services. Responsibilities include providing individual counseling, facilitating small group interventions, and delivering classroom-based support through push-in services when appropriate. The role also includes conducting social-emotional observations and contributing to the development of student support plans.
The selected professional will participate in multidisciplinary meetings and collaborate with school psychologists, special education administrators, teachers, and other support staff. Maintaining documentation, monitoring student progress, and supporting compliance with educational guidelines will also be key components of the position.
Requirements
Applicants must hold an active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker endorsement. Previous experience working within educational settings is preferred, though qualified candidates with relevant training and credentials are encouraged to apply.
Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills are essential for success in this role. Candidates should be comfortable supporting students across a broad age range and working effectively as part of a team-focused environment.
