Job Description

Healthcare Staffing Professionals, Inc. is looking for a Special Education Teacher to work in a school setting in Chicago, IL. The Special Education Case Manager/Teacher is a dual role designed for a dedicated professional who will contribute to the special education team both in managing individual education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities and in providing direct instruction tailored to their educational needs.

This unique position requires a compassionate, organized, and knowledgeable individual who is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with diverse learning needs.

Pay Rate
: $42/hr (part time)

Job Duties:

As a Special Education Teacher:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess instruction tailored to the individual needs and abilities of students with disabilities.
  • Implement instructional strategies and use resources that promote students' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that recognizes and values diversity, encouraging all students to reach their full potential.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the varied needs and interests of students.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

MUST HAVE LBS1 to apply

PEL with one of the following endorsements -

  • Principal (PK-Age 21) - formerly Type 75 with Supervisory endorsement
  • Type 03 (elementary) or Type 09 (secondary) certificate with an endorsement or approval in special education (LBS1); or
  • Special Education (PK-Age 21) - formerly Type 10 (special); or
  • At least 2 years of case management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • State certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Empathy and patience when working with students, parents, and educators.
