Position: Special Education Teacher - Resource Setting (LBS1)
Grade Level: 6-8
Location: Wauconda, IL area

Staff

Hours:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:20 AM - 2:50 PM
• Wednesday: 7:20 AM - 3:05 PM

Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and small group instruction to students with special needs in a resource setting.
• Develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) and tailor instructional materials to meet students' unique needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other staff to support student progress and address any academic or behavioral challenges.
• Monitor and assess student progress, making necessary adjustments to instructional strategies and materials.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and progress.
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions.

Requirements:

• Valid LBS1 Certification.
• Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field;
  Masters degree preferred.
• Proven experience working with middle school students in a special education setting.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt and respond to the diverse needs of students.
• Commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
