Position: Senior Casting Engineer (Onsite)

Job Summary

Senior Casting Engineer – Electric Systems Power Generation Department. Responsible for supporting the design and manufacturing of castings for Integrated Drive Generators, Variable Frequency Generators, motors, and ram air turbines. Works closely with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and suppliers to ensure mechanical and electromagnetic equipment meet cost, weight, and reliability standards.

Responsibilities
  • Support aerospace component production, focusing on housings and other complex geometry sand casting practices.
  • Conduct engineering drawing reviews to ensure designs are feasible and optimized for manufacturability.
  • Design and review tooling for producing casted components, focusing on producibility, quality, and cost.
  • Collaborate with plant sites and suppliers to develop and refine manufacturing processes, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Create and implement standardized work procedures to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency.
  • Analyze and reduce standard costs, implementing cost‑saving measures without compromising quality.
  • Identify root causes of production issues and implement corrective actions to maintain smooth operations.
  • Travel 25–50%.
What You Will Learn
  • Lead production of cutting‑edge aerospace components, including Integrated Drive Generators and Variable Frequency Generators.
  • Gain hands‑on experience with complex electromagnetic systems from design through tooling to production optimization.
Qualifications
  • Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and minimum 5 years relevant experience, or advanced degree and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Experience designing, producing, or supporting complex‑geometry sand‑cast components, particularly for aerospace or high‑tech industries.
  • Proficiency in designing and evaluating tooling for cast components, including patterns, cores, gating, and casting simulation.
  • Experience developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting manufacturing processes, collaborating with plant sites and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of alternative processes such as machining, additive manufacturing (powder bed fusion, material jetting, directed energy deposition).
  • Proven ability to analyze and reduce standard costs while maintaining high quality.
  • Strong root‑cause analysis and corrective action skills.
  • Ability to review engineering drawings for feasibility and manufacturability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.
Salary & Compensation

Salary range: $86,800 – $165,200. Salary based on experience. Eligible for bonuses, benefits, and incentive programs per company policy.
