Information and Communications Technology Technician

Responsibilities

• Develops systems designs within own discipline with minimal supervision
• Performs site visits for surveys, progress inspections, and final punch lists as required by project timelines
• Prepares project deliverables under the direction of the Senior Consultant and per the client’s intent and scope of work
• Follows Stantec’s quality management process; reviews project deliverables before submitting to QA/QC reviewer
• Actively participates in the engineering/professional community to build personal knowledge and professional growth
• Meets or exceeds utilization goals and adheres to project budget
• Gives input or creates plans to complete tasks within the project timeline and budget
• Creates detailed instructions, delegates tasks, and reviews returned work as necessary
• Identifies and reports potential roadblocks that may inhibit the ability to maintain project scope, schedule, and budget

• Possesses knowledge of ICT design principles for backbone and horizontal cabling
• Basic knowledge of practices and principles of other disciplines as they relate to ICT design
• Understands customer owned outside plant pathway design
• Basic understanding of Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) standards and Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI) best practices
• Background experience and knowledge of Data Center Facilities is preferred
• Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, specifications, and government regulations
• Proficient in CAD, Bluebeam, and Revit
• Good communicator and active learner
• Effective organization and time management skills
• Experience with ICT design within Mission Critical Facilities is preferred
• Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience required
• Minimum 3-5 years related industry experience preferred
