The Bureau of Air seeks a Section Manager for the Permit Section to oversee permit review and issuance for air emission sources and pollution control equipment under the Clean Air Act. The successful candidate will manage a large engineering and technical staff, develop permitting procedures and policies, and coordinate with EPA, industry, environmental groups, and other state agencies. This is a full-time salaried position based in Springfield, Illinois.
Keyqualifications:
- Four years of progressively responsible administrative experience in air pollution control permitting
- Four years of managerial experience in permit writing, review, and issuance for air emission sources
- Four years of experience applying state and federal laws and regulations pertinent to air permitting
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Physical Science, Environmental Science, or Engineering preferred
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check
