Expected pay for this position is $20.41 - $24.01/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.
OverviewPOSITION SUMMARY:
The Certified Medical Assistant will perform delegated clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training, and experience. May work in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice providing clerical support, assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care support activities at the direction of the physician/provider. The incumbent performs the duties described below in accordance with the specific needs of the practice.
If working in the Rural Health Clinic setting, will be required to have BLS through the American Heart Association.
High School Diploma or GED
AND must have completed a Medical Assistant training program, including practical internship/externship experience
OR Education equivalency: at least 6 months experience in Certified Medical Assistant role
OR proof of completion of on-the-job training/education program for certified medical assisting in another healthcare organization.
Licensure/ CertificationCurrent certification by ONE of the following approved certifying agencies:
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), earning Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential
- American Medical Technologists (AMT) earning Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential
- American Allied Health (AAH), earning Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), earning a National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) credential
- National Health Care Association (NHA), earning Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) credential
- National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), earning a Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) credential
Previous experience as a medical office assistant or CNA or equivalent, previous experience with electronic health records or phlebotomy.
Licensure/ CertificationIf working in the Rural Health Clinic setting, will be required to have BLS through the American Heart Association.
