Position: Physical Therapist (PT) - Ortho/Sports Med

Overview

Responsible for planning and administering physical therapy treatment plans designed to alleviate pain, restore function, prevent disabilities, and promote overall fitness and health of patients. Serves as a role model in the delivery of professional services and as a clinical resource for staff and students.

Qualifications
  • Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy (Required)
  • Work Experience:

    Outpatient orthopedic settings
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates ability to perform patient transfers with assistance as needed from bed, chair, and floor, when applicable.
  • Uses safe and appropriate body mechanics to reduce injury risk to self, staff, and patients.
  • Treats patients and colleagues with dignity, respect, empathy, and full engagement.
  • Designs an individualized plan of care integrating goals, treatments, outcomes, and discharge planning, adjusting the plan based on patient response and evidence.
  • Educates patients, families, caregivers, students, and other health‑care providers using effective teaching methods.
  • Evaluates clinical findings to determine physical therapy diagnoses and care outcomes.
  • Performs examinations, selecting reliable and valid methods relevant to chief complaints, screening results, and history.
  • Screens patients to determine the effectiveness of and need for therapy services, when appropriate.
  • Uses support personnel in accordance with legal standards and ethical guidelines, monitors their care, and provides regular feedback.
  • Communicates with the medical team.
  • Documents clinical care according to department and practice standards.
  • Meets customer service and productivity standards.
  • Serves as a clinical instructor when assigned by team lead/manager/supervisor.
  • Participates actively in team, program, department assignments, and meetings.
  • Performs reporting and other duties as assigned.
Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range is $36.74 to $63.19 per hour. The actual offer will depend on experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and compensation model. Carle Health offers a comprehensive benefits package for team members and providers.
