Expected pay for this position is $17.66 - $19.63/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

This is an Hourly position. $2.25/hr. for 3rd shift differential.

The Phlebotomist I obtains blood and other specimens according to established policies and procedures from any location where patients may be present for laboratory testing. In doing so, obtains needed supplies, verifies patient identification, prepares skin sites, and performs venipuncture and skin punctures according to established aseptic techniques. Labels specimens and transports same to laboratory for analysis. This position works independently and as a part of a team, performs clerical and/or computer duties associated with the laboratory, and provides timely specimen collection and routing of laboratory specimens.

Maintains professional relationships with patients, staff, and physicians. Duties may vary by assigned area and/or shift.

Required qualifications:

• CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
• CPR American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS

Preferred qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED Experience (Required for Uncertified Nursing Assistants)
• 6 months experience in a clinical healthcare environment
• 6 months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
