Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

RPh on the Go is seeking a Floating Retail Pharmacist for a 13-week full-time contract supporting multiple community pharmacy locations throughout eastern Iowa. This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist who enjoys working in a dynamic retail environment while serving a variety of patient populations across several communities.

Temporary Iowa Pharmacist License Accepted

Candidates with either an active Iowa Pharmacist license or a Temporary Iowa Pharmacist license are encouraged to apply. This is an excellent opportunity for pharmacists looking to begin working in Iowa while completing the permanent licensure process.

• 13-week full-time contract
• Monday–Friday schedule
• Occasional Saturday mornings (half-day only, as needed)
• Shifts between 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Weekly pay

This position will provide coverage at the following pharmacy locations:

• Dubuque, IA
• Bellevue, IA
• Monticello, IA
• Preston, IA
• Independence, IA

• Accurately dispense prescription medications while ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance
• Counsel patients on medication therapy and provide clinical guidance
• Respond professionally to patient questions and resolve medication-related concerns
• Maintain inventory and controlled substance records
• Resolve third-party insurance and billing issues
• Collaborate with pharmacy staff to support efficient daily operations and deliver exceptional patient care

• Pharmacy Software:
  McKesson Enterprise
• Dubuque location averages approximately 2,800–3,000 prescriptions per week
• Rural locations average approximately 600 prescriptions per week

• Active Iowa Pharmacist License or Temporary Iowa Pharmacist License
• Minimum of one year of retail pharmacy experience
• Comfortable practicing in a high-volume retail pharmacy setting
• Strong communication, organizational, and patient counseling skills
• Ability to travel between assigned pharmacy locations
