Department: Cardiac Cath Lab
Shift: 8-hour shifts | 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Call Requirement: 2–3 weeknights per week
Weekend Call: Every 3rd weekend
Holiday Call: Approximately 2–3 holidays per year
We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist to join the Cardiac Cath Lab team ideal candidate will have recent hands-on experience with cardiac heart catheterization and peripheral catheterization procedures and be comfortable working in a fast-paced procedural environment.
The department includes 2 cardiac catheterization labs, 1 hybrid room, and a 6-bed recovery area, performing approximately 5 cases per day.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians and the procedural team during cardiac and peripheral catheterization procedures.
- Prepare and maintain the cath lab, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
- Provide technical support during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Assist with emergent cardiac cases, including STEMI and NSTEMI patients.
- Support neuro-interventional procedures for appropriate stroke patients.
- Assist with peripheral angiography and other vascular procedures.
- Support line placements, drain placements, and loop recorder procedures.
- Maintain sterile technique and follow all patient-safety and infection-control protocols.
- Monitor and operate applicable cath lab equipment.
- Document procedures and patient information accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, radiology staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
The department commonly treats and performs procedures involving:
- STEMI
- NSTEMI
- Chest pain
- Stroke patients requiring neuro-intervention
- Peripheral angiography
- Line placement
- Drain placement
- Loop recorder procedures
- Diagnostic and interventional heart catheterization
- Recent experience performing/supporting heart catheterization procedures.
- Recent experience with peripheral catheterization procedures.
- Current BLS certification.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity procedural environment.
- Strong understanding of cath lab procedures, equipment, and sterile technique.
- Experience with Philips equipment.
- Experience with Mc Kesson .
- Experience working with Philips monitoring equipment and Philips procedure tables.
- Experience with Bi-Plane imaging systems is beneficial.
- Labs: 2 cardiac cath labs
- Hybrid Room: 1
- Recovery Area: 6 beds
- Average Volume: Approximately 5 cases per day
- EMR: Epic
- Lab Equipment: Philips monitoring equipment and Philips tables
- Documentation/System: Mc Kesson
- Bi-Plane: Available in one of the cath labs
- Charge Nurse: Charge nurse may take a patient/procedural assignment as needed.
- Floating: Typically no floating required.
- Regular Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, 8-hour shifts
- Weeknight Call: 2–3 nights per week
- Weekend Call: Every 3rd weekend
- Holiday Call: Approximately 2–3 holidays per year
- Hospital scrubs are provided.
- 32 hours of department-specific orientation, consisting of 4 shifts.
