We are looking for a new Server for a Japanese style Bar & Lounge located in The Watermark Hotel in Tysons Corner, VA. This role is well suited for someone who has worked in a trendy cocktail bar, upscale restaurant, and boutique hotel setting.

The Watermark Hotel – Tysons is an upscale all-suite facility with a chef-driven restaurant, cocktail bar, outdoor patios, 1,600 square feet of meeting space, and a breakfast café. The property is owned by Capital One Financial and operated by the

Under the guidance of Senior Management and in accordance with the policies of

F. Saul Company Hospitality Group, the Server will follow instructions and execute assignments to standards provided. This position is responsible for serving food and beverages to guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner. Adheres to health regulations and local liquor laws. Ensures exceptional guest service and creates an inviting atmosphere. Follows brand standards of quality to ensure guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Greet guests and take food and beverage orders, using suggestive and up-selling techniques.
  • Retrieve and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and meals to guests, courteously and efficiently according to restaurant specifications.
  • Input orders accurately; collect and process payments.
  • Assist in maintaining the restaurant area and supplies.
  • Know the menu and be able to answer questions about ingredients and allergens.
  • Perform duties with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy; prioritize and organize.
  • Maintain knowledge of restaurant policies and standards of service.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge guests regardless of busyness or time of day.

  • Complete all side work before doors open; assist with seating as needed.
  • Notify a manager if a guest is unhappy or upset.
  • Know table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, menus, price ranges, and dress code.
  • Inspect menus and wine lists; update as changes occur.
  • Build return clientele and assist in creating a welcoming environment.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by management.
  • Key Relationships: Internal:
    Talent in restaurant, assist bar, and all other F&B areas;
    Culinary/Stewarding;
    Storeroom/Purchasing;
    Accounting and HR. External:
    Guests, equipment repair personnel, and liquor suppliers.
Qualifications
  • Provide legible communication and basic arithmetic.
  • Two years’ experience in a similar customer-facing role.
  • Ability to work with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy; prioritize and organize.
  • Follow directions thoroughly and think clearly; stay calm and resolve problems with good judgment.
  • Work cohesively with teammates and with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and restaurant data.
  • Provide clear, pleasant telephone communication with proper grammar.
  • Certificates: Virginia Food Handler and Responsible Vendor certificates are required for employment at

    F. Saul Company Hospitality Group; the employee is responsible for obtaining and renewing this certificate.
  • Physical Abilities: Exert physical effort to transport up to 20 pounds; endure various physical movements; stand for extended periods; and work in conditions including heat, fumes, and loud environments.
  • Special Requirements: English reading/writing/speaking required; ability to read and interpret safety and operating instructions; ability to speak effectively before employees.
