Overview

As a Cloud Architect
, you will work within our growing Dev Sec Ops  practice delivering features to support cloud migration, cloud optimization, and cloud deployment. We are looking for candidates with 8-10 years of experience with cloud platform services and Dev Ops practices such as infrastructure as code and confirmation management automation.

Contributions

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the customer
  • Design cloud environments and demonstrate technical cloud architectural knowledge, playing a vital role in the design of production, staging, QA, and development of cloud infrastructures running in 24×7 environments
  • Implement and oversee cloud strategies include migrations and optimization
  • Establishing development tools and infrastructure for automation
  • Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers
  • Automate and improve development, testing, deployment,and release processes
  • Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
  • Perform root cause analysis on complex business processes and technical components.
  • Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
  • Identifying technical problems, performing root cause analysis, and developing software updates and ‘fixes’
  • Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
  • Support enterprise Cloud applications or infrastructure through infrastructure as code including any activities around automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, and monitoring and testing, such as CI/CD
  • Document as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations
  • Leverage virtualization and containerization to optimize and modernize software systems
  • Act as an individual contributor and mentor more junior team members
  • Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services provided
  • Present regular status updates and provide cross training to other team members.
Qualifications

Required

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance
  • BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field and 2 years related IT experience
  • 10+ Years of total experience
  • 8 Years of Experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions
  • 8 Years of Experience with one or more clouds (i.e. AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Hands-on experience as a Cloud Architect with expertise in Azure
  • 8 Years of Experience with Git SCM providers such as Git Hub, Git Lab, Bitbucket
  • 8 Years of Experience with systems development in an Agile environment
  • 8 Years of Experience implementing infrastructure as code and orchestration
  • 8 Years of Experience integrating deployments with industry standard Dev Sec Ops  tooling and orchestration
  • 5 Years of Experience in several of the following areas: database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, advanced analytics
  • Current Microsoft Certified:
    Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification (AZ-305)
  • Must have government contracting experience
  • This role may require being onsite in Bethesda one day per week, with occasional additional onsite days depending on meeting schedules and business needs.

Preferred

  • Local to Washington, DC metro area
  • MS Degree in an IT-related field
  • Certifications:
    • AWS Certified Dev Ops Engineer
    • AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional
    • GCP Professional Cloud Architect
    • Microsoft Certified Dev Ops Engineer Expert
    • SAFe Dev Ops  Certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Experience with documenting an as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations
  • Experience with scripting in Concourse, Bash, Power Shell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby
  • Experience implementing docker containers and utilizing platforms such as Kubernetes
  • Experience with automation tools, including Pivotal, Chef, Terraform, Cloud Formation, or Ansible
