Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, implement, and support HL7, FHIR, and API‑based integrations across healthcare systems.
  • Build and maintain interfaces using industry‑standard integration platforms such as Cloverleaf, Rhapsody, Corepoint, Mirth Connect, Inter Systems (Ensemble / IRIS), or comparable engines.
  • Develop and support real‑time and batch interfaces including ADT, orders, results, charges, scheduling, and master file updates.
  • Analyze interface requirements, source/target specifications, and data mappings to translate business and clinical needs into technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex integration issues across upstream and downstream systems, ensuring data integrity and reliability.
  • Support data extraction, transformation, and reconciliation using SQL and related tools.
  • Contribute to integration‑related activities tied to EHR implementations, upgrades, migrations, and conversions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, interface specifications, data mappings, and operational runbooks.
  • Serve as integration project manager or workstream lead for assigned initiatives.
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, milestones, and dependencies for integration efforts.
  • Coordinate tasks across internal team members, client stakeholders, and third‑party vendors.
  • Track status, risks, issues, and mitigation plans; proactively escalate when needed.
  • Lead or support integration testing cycles, cutover planning, and go‑live readiness.
  • Facilitate regular status meetings and provide clear, concise client‑facing updates.
  • Ensure delivery aligns with scope, quality standards, timelines, and client expectations.
  • Be willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time as required per client demands.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Healthcare industry experience (required), including hospital, health system, or healthcare IT consulting environments.
  • Hands‑on experience with one or more integration engines / platforms, such as:
Cloverleaf, Rhapsody, Corepoint, Mirth Connect, Inter Systems Ensemble or IRIS, or comparable integration technologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of HL7 (v2.x required; v3 preferred).
  • Experience with FHIR, RESTful APIs, and modern interoperability patterns.
  • Understanding of USCDI, interoperability regulations, and healthcare data standards.
  • Strong SQL skills, including querying, troubleshooting, and data validation.
  • Experience supporting or integrating with one or more major EHR platforms:
    Epic, Oracle Health (Cerner), MEDITECH.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, deliver independently, and operate effectively in ambiguous or fast‑paced environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
