About the Role
As a Crop Claims Adjuster, you will investigate, inspect, evaluate, and pay Federal Crop and Crop Hail Claims in the following Illinois counties:
Mercer, Henry, and Rock Island.
- Investigate, inspect, evaluate, and pay Federal Crop and Crop Hail Claims.
- Upon receipt of a claim, review the client’s policy, determine coverage levels, contact the client within 24 hours, explain the claims procedures, set inspection date/time, inspect the damage, determine the cause of loss, evaluate the damages, calculate the amount of damages, and issue payment.
- Participate in auditing, bin measurements, drone flights, training, compliance, and presentation meetings.
- Communicate and negotiate with insureds, claimants, insurance carriers, and other involved parties.
- Adjust all federal crop claims exclusively in the American Farm Bureau Insurance Services CAP estimating system.
- Maintain relationships with Agency and Illinois Farm Bureau Managers in the assigned territory.
- Typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education, and training.
- Valid driver’s license for all levels and a Federal Crop Certification for P2‑P4.
- Ability to climb and/or walk fields in all weather conditions, lift a minimum of 10 lbs., and travel with overnight or extended stays as needed.
- Must live in or around the counties of Mercer, Henry, or Rock Island, Illinois.
- Work may extend beyond normal working hours as required.
Base Pay Range: $55,200 – $75,900. This position is also eligible for a Short‑Term Incentive plan.
