Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate School-Based Sign Language Interpreter to join our educational team. The interpreter will facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and others, ensuring equal access to educational opportunities and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

• Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa for students in various educational settings.
• Support students during classroom instruction, activities, and school events.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to ensure the students needs are met.
• Assist in the preparation of educational materials as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the ethical standards of the interpreting profession.

• Certification in Sign Language Interpretation (RID/NAD or equivalent).
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Previous experience working in an educational setting preferred.
