Maintenance Worker, Building Maintenance, Maintenance Technician ​/ Mechanic

Envision Unlimited is a non‑profit organization serving persons with disabilities throughout Chicago in community living and day programs. We have a great opportunity for a Maintenance Worker to join our team!

This position will perform basic general repair and building maintenance in residential homes and other day program facilities. Candidates MUST have experience in general maintenance/handyman type work; applicants with only janitorial and housekeeping experience will not meet the minimum qualifications for this position.

• Assessment of repair requirements including cost estimate and time to complete.
• Simple carpentry requiring use of hand tools.
• Exterior maintenance and occasional landscaping work.
• Drywall repair/patching, priming and painting.
• Furniture moving, changing light bulbs, cleaning and proper storage of maintenance tools.

• High school diploma and/or technical school/GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in basic building maintenance and repair.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record to drive company vehicles.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Pass a full criminal background check.
• Ability to stand, walk and climb stairs and ladders, push, pull, and carry heavy materials and equipment.
• Must be able to work independently.

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m.

- 4:30 p.m. (work outside these hours and/or days may be required)
