We are seeking an experienced travel Automotive Paint Spot Repair Technician to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in automotive collision repair, paint defect correction, and final paint finishing. This position requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
The successful candidate will support World Class Manufacturing initiatives while contributing to continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee morale.
Responsibilities- Support and contribute to World Class Manufacturing programs, processes, and safety initiatives.
- Perform paint spot repairs and correct paint defects through final completion.
- Use lift devices, assembly equipment, hand tools, power tools, and paint application equipment safely and effectively.
- Drive and participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Identify and assist with root-cause analysis and problem solving related to quality issues.
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and workplace requirements.
- Meet established production and quality targets.
- Follow all written and documented processes, procedures, work instructions, and standards.
- Ensure quality and operating systems are properly implemented and maintained.
- Communicate regularly with team leads regarding performance, objectives, and production needs.
- Promote open communication and collaboration among team members.
- Actively promote teamwork, problem solving, and a proactive work environment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Ensure completed repairs meet quality standards and are ready for final shipment.
- 3-5 years of experience in automotive paint spot repair preferred.
- Automotive collision repair experience required.
- Ability to repair paint defects through all stages of the repair process to final completion.
- Experience using paint hand sprayers and spray guns.
- Ability to perform light-touchup painting and finish work.
- Ability to take a vehicle or component from paint damage through complete repair and finishing, resulting in a 100% completed, ship-ready product
. - Ability to safely operate a variety of hand and power tools, including welders, soldering equipment, cutting tools/torches, sanding equipment, blocks, hammers, wrenches, spray guns, and related equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to follow standardized work instructions and documented processes.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
- Ability to stand for 8-12 hours per day
. - Ability to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required.
- Ability to lift and carry at least 25 pounds
. - Ability to work around dust and elevated noise levels.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, including hot and cold environments.
- Ability to safely perform repetitive tasks and work with hand and power tools for extended periods.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
