Help Give Children a Voice
McLean County's CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) program is looking for a passionate and organized Case Manager to help empower volunteers who advocate for children navigating the child welfare system in Logan and Ford Counties. This role plays a vital part in ensuring that children who have experienced abuse or neglect have a dedicated advocate by their side.
As a CASA Case Manager, you'll support and supervise volunteer advocates, ensuring they are prepared, informed, and equipped to stand up for children in foster care. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about child welfare, values community service, and thrives in a role that blends administrative coordination with meaningful, mission-driven work.
What You'll Do
* Supervise and support up to 30 volunteer CASA advocates and their assigned cases primarily in Logan and Ford Counties
* Conduct interviews with prospective volunteers and assist with pre-service training
* Attend court hearings and related meetings with volunteers
* Help appoint volunteers to new cases, ensuring appropriate matches
* Maintain case files, documentation, and data for grant and court reporting
* Contribute to community education efforts and promote the CASA program
* Assist with ongoing communications, including bi-monthly newsletters
* Stay current on best practices and ethical standards from National and Illinois CASA associations
* Represent CASA at conferences and workshops as needed
* Perform additional duties as directed by CASA Program leadership
What We're Looking For
Education & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
* Experience working with child victims, child welfare, or in volunteer coordination
Key
Skills:
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to guide, support, and empower volunteers
* Knowledge of child abuse and neglect dynamics
* Familiarity with the juvenile court system is a plus
* Self-motivated, organized, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Additional Details
Physical Requirements:
This role requires standard office tasks, including sitting, walking, lifting light objects, and occasional travel to court or off-site meetings.
Work Environment:
Primarily office-based with offices in McLean, Logan, and Ford Counties, with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions and typical workplace safety considerations.
