Registered Nurse

Overview

Registered Nurse at Iroquois Memorial Hospital & Resident Home. Full time, immediate start. The 25‑bed facility located in Watseka, Illinois provides emergency, operating‑room, inpatient, therapy, imaging, home health, hospice care and a skilled nursing facility. The RN will work in the Emergency Department and maintain a state of readiness.

• Administers IVs, medications and treatments.
• Responds appropriately to emergencies.
• Evaluates patient response to interventions & acts accordingly.
• Maintains the department in a constant state of readiness.
• Communicates effectively with peers, health team members, patients, visitors & others.
• Communicates patient information as required for continuity of care.
• Transcribes physician orders.
• Uses the computer system.
• Implements charges.
• Maintains confidentiality.
• Demonstrates good radio technique.
• Familiarity with SOPs.
• Issues appropriate orders.
• Records report on the written log.
• Provides a positive clinical experience for EMTs.
• Collects forensic specimens.
• Requires on‑call, weekend & holiday rotation and flexibility to work all shifts when needed.

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Must have current hospital experience (within 5 years) or be a new nursing graduate (within 2 years).
• Must be able to think clearly during emergencies & function well in extremely stressful situations.
• Prefer at least 1 year of experience in hospital clinical nursing.

• State of Illinois RN license.
• CPR certification.
• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification.
• ECRN certification (preferred).
