Retail Scan Associate; Bloomington, IL

Overview

This is a permanent PART-TIME role. Scan Scape Retail Scan Associates visit a designated selection of stores each week to scan all product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps throughout the store. The data collected is analyzed and used to improve the sales performance of the product and retailer (store).

We are hiring part-time Retail Scan Associates to perform in-store data collections at assigned local retailers every week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. Our store types include grocery, convenience, drug, pet, and mass merchandise stores. We work with major brand retailers and other national chains, as well as small independent retailers. You will use a downloadable app on a mobile phone to scan barcodes in multiple locations within each store.

The position estimates approximately 15–21 hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and project requirements. You may be asked to record quantities for about 45% of the products you scan. Some weeks include additional work on Custom Projects, which can add 30 minutes to 2 hours per store.

• Perform in-store data collection by scanning product barcodes in displays, shelves, and aisle end caps.
• Complete Display Scanning throughout the store on a weekly basis, which can take several hours.
• Meet weekly deadlines with dependable, quality-driven performance.
• Assist with Custom Projects as requested, typically adding 30 minutes to 2 hours of work per store.
• Report to the store within the described deadline and adhere to project requirements.

• At least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
• Reliable vehicle with minimum state auto insurance coverage.
• Ability to stand for long periods and access products throughout the store.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, reach up to 6 feet, and bend/stretch/stoop/stand as needed.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Must be deadline-driven and a self-starter.
• Must have access to reliable Wi-Fi and be tech savvy.
• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
