Job OverviewThe Coordinator team member plans, directs, and supervises team members in the day‑to‑day operations of their respective department area. This role delivers exceptional customer service by managing ordering, receiving, stocking, and displaying products to maximize profit, while maintaining department cleanliness and adhering to food safety processes.
Responsibilities- Assist in scheduling, staffing selection, and hiring to achieve staffing needs.
- Promote succession planning by providing career paths and identifying development needs for the department team.
- Support disciplinary actions and recommend discharge decisions.
- Achieve P&L budgeted goals and meet sales, labor, and margin plans.
- Review sales goals, supply costs, stock loss/shrink results and goals.
- Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
- Review customer survey and feedback.
- Prepare, package, stock, and display merchandise appropriately.
- Ensure price change compliance and food safety compliance.
- Order manual ordered items.
- Supervise, train, and manage the Department Team in the absence of the Department Manager, including stock (washing, bundling, trimming), rotating, and merchandising.
- Ensure all inferior or out‑of‑code products are not sold and remove them from display.
- Ensure accurate pricing and maintain sales prices.
- Provide customer consultation on consumer products.
- Execute signage compliance and back‑room organization.
- Meet or exceed sales floor conditions expectations.
- Train team members on all aspects of their jobs and ensure completion of required training.
- Promote a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
- Use production planner and Fresh dashboard correctly.
- Other daily tasks as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2–3 years of related retail experience.
- One year of management experience.
- Previous experience in a natural foods industry is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly to team members.
- Ability to resolve conflict and address root‑cause issues.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to make informed decisions.
- Ability to consult customers on all aspects of the department.
- Ability to lead an organization that practices safety.
- Ability to mentor team members, including hourly positions.
- Successful completion of required certifications (Serv Safe).
