Job Summary
New Business Development Representative (NBD) –
Location:
Bloomington, IL. Responsible for managing the sales process and advancing profitable sales growth within an assigned market area for new Airgas customers. The role requires building and nurturing relationships, qualifying leads, preparing proposals, managing accounts receivable, and providing solutions to new Airgas customers.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and qualifying leads to closing new accounts.
- Build and nurture client relationships, utilizing a consultative, solution‑selling approach.
- Create accurate sales proposals including pricing, credit terms, and delivery dates.
- Stay current on industry trends, product mix, and competitor activity.
- Collaborate with internal resources to meet success milestones.
- Maintain clear communication with internal departments regarding customer opportunities and developments.
- Submit daily call reports, weekly plans, and monthly/annual territory analyses through SAP.
- Review and manage accounts receivable to protect working capital and reduce financial risk.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and minimum liability insurance.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Google Suites.
- Minimum of 3 years outside B2B sales experience with proven solution‑selling success.
- Knowledge of customer segmentation and ability to prioritize high‑value prospects.
- Strong consultative sales skills and ability to communicate complex solutions.
- Current knowledge of Airgas product mix, production schedules, and logistics.
- Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in industrial and specialty gases or welding supply sales.
- Prior SAP experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (4 years) of work experience.
Competitive base pay of $60,000‑$70,000 plus commission. Monthly auto allowance, 401(k) with company match, tuition assistance, paid holidays, vacation, sick time, and comprehensive medical/dental/vision coverage. Parental leave up to 14 weeks paid and other standard Airgas benefits.
