Job Summary: We are seeking a proficient Quality Assurance Technician who will play a vital role in executing Quality Audits on completed utility locating tickets. This position involves overseeing excavation activities and protecting critical utility infrastructure by monitoring contractors and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Quality Audits: Conduct on-site inspections of completed work, including:
- Locating marks and marking standards for accuracy
- E-Sketch documentation
- Billing and status codes review
- Photo documentation analysis
- Verification of work area completion
- Watch & Protect Responsibilities: Monitor real‑world conditions against record documentation to identify discrepancies, including:
- Verifying the location of all client facilities and excavation areas
- Observing and protecting client facilities as directed
- Understanding contractors' methods for subsurface installations
- Communicating and coordinating with excavators for on‑site monitoring
- Locating and marking underground facilities using industry-standard tools and techniques
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Valid driver's license
- 2+ years of experience in the utility locating industry
Essential
Skills:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficient in reading and interpreting construction prints
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational abilities for managing multiple tasks
- Knowledge of safe worksite practices
- Experience with below-grade infrastructure and maintenance of locating equipment
- Understanding and applying existing utility design standards
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of moving about construction sites and public areas
- Lift up to 50/75 lbs
- Stand, walk, kneel, or sit for extended periods
- Hand-eye coordination for operating computers and tools
Work Environment:
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions year-round
- Occasionally in excavated areas and roadways
- May be exposed to wet conditions, fumes, and vibration
- Noise level may vary from moderate to loud
Job Type: Full-time;
Hourly pay based on experience.
Benefits: As a full-time employee, you will be eligible for health benefits after 30 days, paid holidays, and PTO. A 401(k) plan with company matching will be available after 90 days of employment.
